RAWM SA-MH01 packaging and content

Shape & Size

The RAWM SA-MH01 is a large, symmetrical mouse measuring 127 x 66 x 40 mm. Its large size and minimal back hump make it highly suited for both claw and palm grip styles for most hand sizes. However, users with smaller hands might find it too large. The mouse has a slight inward curve on the sides, making it easier to hold and lift during use. It also features a slight outward flare at the front.

In terms of size and shape, the RAWM SA-MH01 is very similar to the popular Razer Viper V3 Pro, being only slightly larger. The only noticeable difference is the back flare, which is slightly wider on the RAWM SA-MH01. Otherwise, the two mice feel almost identical.

Coating & Grip Tape

The coating on the RAWM SA-MH01 feels good. I would have preferred it slightly grippier, but since it is a large mouse with plenty of surface area for your hand to contact, the slightly less grippy coating doesn't significantly affect handling. Additionally, the mouse includes grip tape for the sides and main buttons if extra grip is needed.

Build Quality

The RAWM SA-MH01 is built exceptionally well and feels incredibly solid. There is very slight flex on the sides when applying significant pressure, but the rest of the mouse has no flex at all. It also produces no creaking sounds under pressure and does not rattle when shaken.

Weight & Feet/Skates

The primary downside of this mouse is its weight. While many newer mice are becoming lighter, the RAWM SA-MH01 weighs 65 grams for the standard version, and 69 grams for the Pro version. This doesn't make the mouse feel overly heavy, especially given its large size and solid build, but it does leave room for improvement compared to its main competitor, the Razer Viper V3 Pro, which is 11-15g lighter at only 54g while being the same size and shape.

The skates on the RAWM SA-MH01 are decent. Pure white PTFE skates would have been preferable, as the included black skates aren't as smooth as those found on many current mice. However, they still provide a good glide overall, even though there's room for improvement.

Buttons & Scroll Wheel

The switches on the RAWM SA-MH01 are hot-swappable. To change them, you must remove the skates and fully open the mouse, which can be tedious, but it's still better than soldering.

The standard SA-MH01 includes Huano Transparent Blue Shell Pink Dot switches, which are lightweight mechanical switches rated for 80 million clicks.

The Pro version, which I tested, uses Huano Transparent Green Shell White Dot switches. These switches are mechanical as well but require slightly more force to actuate and are rated for 100 million clicks. I personally like these switches a lot, as they are very tactile and easy to spam-click, which is important for FPS gaming.

The buttons have almost no pre-travel and only a slight amount of post-travel, which is not noticeable during normal use. The buttons also have no side-to-side wobble.

The scroll wheel uses a mechanical F-Switch encoder. The steps have moderate tactility, though I would have preferred them slightly more defined. Scrolling requires minimal force, making it ideal for rapid actions such as bunny hopping in games like Apex Legends.

Sensor & Performance

The standard SA-MH01 uses the PAW3395 sensor, while the Pro version features the newer PAW3950 sensor. Both versions support an 8K polling rate, but the standard SA-MH01 requires a separately purchased 8K dongle unless bought as a bundle.

I tested the Pro version, and the performance and tracking were excellent, comparable to other high-end mice with the PAW3950 sensor.

Conclusion

The RAWM SA-MH01 costs $47.99, while the Pro version is priced at $59.99. It's an exceptionally well-built mouse at a very affordable price. The hot-swappable switches add extra value to this mouse. The main drawback is its heavier weight of 65-69 grams, though it doesn't feel overly heavy. If you're looking for a mouse with a shape and size similar to the Razer Viper V3 Pro at a significantly lower price and don't mind the slightly higher weight, the RAWM SA-MH01 is an excellent choice.
